Hege Larsson Aas

Hello! I am a Norwegian linguist who is primarily interested in spoken fluency and learner corpus research. I am Assistant Professor in the Department of English at the University of Inland Norway.

In my ongoing PhD project, I explore spoken English interlanguage, with an emphasis on the features that may contribute to fluency (e.g. pauses and fillers) and the potential for transfer of fluency-related features between languages. I teach courses and supervise BA and MA theses related to English language and English language teaching – including topics such as spoken English, spoken corpora, pragmatics, and academic writing. I am also interested in feedback practices in higher education, and how enhanced feedback literacy can contribute to language awareness among students of English language and linguistics.
